If you have a website you know that driving traffic to your website is imperative in order to grow your business and connect with those potential clients. Your website is your digital home and the first interaction they have with you is likely through your digital pretense i.e. Instagram which is why you need to have a custom Instagram links page.

We are living in a digital age and businesses are marketing through social media channels which only allow one main link for your profile.  There are many third-party links now on the market such as Linktree or Milkshake. However, the data on those sites are not your own and they don’t offer much flexibility or customization as far as layout or branding.

Pros:

  • It’s easy to use
  • You can set up the site in minutes
  • You don’t need to be afraid of messing up your website
  • You get some basic data

Cons:

  • You’re limited to only adding buttons
  • You can’t add your own branding unless you pay for premium
  • Your data is incredibly limited (it doesn’t hold a candle to Google Analytics)
  • You are directing traffic to a third-party site and not your own site
  • If the site crashes you have no control since you don’t own it!

This is why you need your own custom Instagram links page in you profile bio directly on your website!

Not only do you have complete control but you can also create a cohesive brand experience for visitors to your space. The moment they enter your space you want to give them a reason to stick around and hopefully work with you!

Optimize that link so that it works for you and your business.

Things to keep in mind:

Stick to no more than 6 link buttons. Too many options will overwhelm people and result in them not clicking anything and instead exiting your site.

Don’t limit yourself to only buttons! You can include a Freebie or newsletter sign-up, a section about you, a featured blog post, a featured service, and podcast episodes. The world is your oyster just make sure to keep it simple.

By creating a page on your site you now have control over the brand experience, the data from visitors, and how you direct people through your site and services.

This also allows you to have a more engaging experience instead of just buttons and links. If a link in bio page is the only website that you are using that shouldn’t stop you from providing a 10/10 experience for visitors. You don’t need to have a 10-page site to engage visitors from the moment they land. A one-page website can be just as impactful!
